A printing method which applies several layers of UV ink to specific graphic elements on a design. Adding dimension and appeal to your printed piece.
HAPT (High-Area Print Technique) is a printing process that uses multiple passes of the printing head to create many layers of ink resulting in the designated areas to be prominently raised from the base substrate. UV inks are specially formulated to cure when exposed to ultraviolet light. The ink dries instantly allowing the next coating of ink to dry on top of the previous one. After multiple passes, the printed area builds up to achieve a desired height. This technique can be utilized on almost any substrate and can accomplish simple results such as braille or raised letters or more sophisticated applications that can emulate woodgrains and custom textured patterns.
With specific input, a variety of heights can be created within the same design. This can add a very dynamic affect to the print.
Braille is another element that can be executed with this type of printing.
